Wonderful resort!! The newly renovated beach/pool layout makes it very easy to go between the ocean, bars, and pools. Numerous activities at all times of the day. The boogie boarding, beach volleyball, and salsa dancing lessons were amazing (Thank you Aranza!!). The food service and staff were all amazing!

Just finished a lovely trip at riu jalisco. They had just completed their renovations and the place looked great. Some early hiccups with the restaurants and pools but by the end of the trip everything was running smoothly. We went down as a family of 4 with 2 kids, the resort is very family oriented. It felt very safe and comfortable for our family. Food options were good too but it became very annoying to see such early lineups at the a la carte restaurants. The beach is clean, lots of extracurricular activities available nearby. The only negative we had experienced on the trip was repeated false fire alarms going off including early Christmas morning where everyone walked down the stairs only to be told it was a false alarm by a cleaning staff. Otherwise I would recommend this place for families and couples.

Wow!!!! Hotel Riu Jalisco was amazing. The recent renovations in 2025 were very beautiful, well executed and really created a wonderful backdrop to our family holiday. We attended a wedding that was very beautifully done. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. They meticulously cleaned. There were many family activities and the entertainment staff were top notch. There are several pools and a kids water play area. There are also water sports rentals on resort. So many activities you really don't need to leave. A cab drive to Bucerias is about 15 minutes and cost us about 100 pesos. We went to Fat Boy Seafood which was top notch. The market in the Plaza closes at about 8, so if you decide to go, its good to go a bit earlier. We will definitely return!

Super fun. Very clean. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We never had trouble getting pool/beach chairs - there are alot. There are 6 pools - 2 big ones, bar pool and 2 kids pools - so it was never too crowded. The white party was super fun. Also, I have to shout out my favourite staff member ARANZA. She made the water aerobics so fun that i did it almost everyday and looked forward to it - i never thought i would be into that :)

We just enjoyed a week with friends at the Riu Jalisco. It was absolutely incredible. We really really enjoyed ourselves. We had upgraded to an ocean view suite, and let me tell you it was incredible. Our room with giant with a huge bed. Two bedrooms with queen beds, two bathrooms. Everything was safe. We used the safe daily with no issue. Housekeeping was wonderful. Bartenders were great especially Angel. Cart servers around the pool, we're very attentive. Shout out to Johny and Armando. They kept finding us every day. Entertainment staff was incredible especially Carla and Xianna & Mike. The Michael Jackson show was really great. The food was really good. We ate mostly at the buffets just because we had kids, and it was easy. We did eat at the Steakhouse, Agave and the American grill. The Steakhouse was good but not incredible. Agave was a Mexican a la carte restaurant but a buffet which suprised me. Anerican grill had great mac and cheese and chicken wings. We had lunch daily at the pool restaurants. The tacos were great and my kids give the hotdogs 5. I have a child with an anaphylactic allergy (tree nuts) and I felt completely safe at the buffets with him. They have a really great labeling system for allergies. There were a couple things I was unsure about and I spoke to the chefs, and they were very great. The ICECREAM SHOP was incredible!!!! Pools were great. Iguanas around the resort. The beach was incredible. The waves were pretty good each day that we were there so the kids got to play in the ocean quite a bit. I enjoyed the local vendors on the beach, bought a couple things, had a massage. We walked one day into Busarius and felt safe. We Ubered into PV another day. Overall, everything was incredible.I would absolutely return to this resort in the future!

We stayed at the Riu January 21 - 28th, 2026 for a family wedding. The renovations at this hotel are magnificent. There were a few issues with the rooms in our party but we got it sorted the second day. There are no doors on bathrooms, only on the toilet rooms, which was awkward for the families which must undress in view of the main room, and it can be disruptive if you need to get up during the night. If this is a problem, ask for a room with a door. The wedding was fantastic. The location was beautiful, the flowers fresh and gorgeous, the food was fantastic, and DJ was great. It was such a perfect day. There were a few issues with the planning that needed to worked out and this was stressful but it all worked out. The buffet was good and there was a lot of selection. There was always a line up for the steak house but you could get in with in 45 minutes. There were so many activities we did not get to try them all. The pools are lovely and there was a splash park and children's pool with slides in the Riu Club. The staff treated our children so well and our six year old would walk right up to the bar and ask for a Shirley Temple. It was a great trip.

We had an absolute amazing experience at the Riu Jalisco. The hotel staff were amazing in every way. The food was excellent and the buffet had little changes every day to keep things interesting. The cleaning staff was absolutely incredible. No exaggeration, there were people keeping the floors, stairs, elevators, rooms and pools clean every day. If someone spilled a drink someone cleaned it right away. We tipped the cleaning staff just as much as our bartenders and servers since they were working so hard. Every facility on site was also kept amazingly clean. Never once did we feel like we were stepping into a dirty restroom. Everything said and done I can't wait to book our next trip here. I wish I could give them more stars and higher praise.

The hotel is all nicely renovated. They did an amazing job with the renovation. The resort is clean, modern and the staff is truly amazing. We loved Aranza (the nice lady who was doing the aqua gym and stretching was always smiling, looks like she's really enjoying what she doe). Jakie (hostess at the Italian restaurant was so great, friendly and professional. 2 of the cooks went above and beyond by making mussels for me at lunch since there wasn't any at the buffet that day, they offered to make me some (their names were Robin and Ramses). We also really liked Armando (he was always smiling while making drinks around the pool going around with his cart, super friendly and professional guy). I would highly recommend that hotel, however you absolutely need to bring a travel umbrella with you as there is absolutely NO shade on the beach. Also, having more a la carte restaurants would be nice, it was pretty difficult to get in as they don't take reservations.
